Browser-level choice

Cookies and similar technologies

The website uses cookies and similar technologies for functionality and to understand how the site is used. Details of the categories of cookies we use and how you can manage them are set out in our Cookie Policy.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect how parts of the site function.

In practice

  • Functional cookies keep sign-in state and form submissions working while you move between pages.
  • Usage cookies tell us which pages are read and where visitors stop, so we can fix unclear sections.
  • Clearing cookies removes stored preferences; a few pages may then ask you to set them again.

Handling of records and data requests

Outside our team

Service providers work to our instructions, and the law sets the rest.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not disclose personal data to third parties except where necessary to operate the service, where required by law, or where you have asked us to. Service providers who process data on our behalf are expected to handle it in line with our instructions, and to use it only for the work we have asked them to do.

Where disclosure is required by a regulator, court, or law enforcement body, we will disclose only what is required. That means we look at the scope of the request, provide the smallest set of records that answers it, and tell you where the law allows us to.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

How long we keep it

Retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Enquiry records are kept for a reasonable period so we can follow up and maintain continuity of communication.

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Deleting means the record is removed from active systems; anonymizing means the identifying parts are stripped so the remainder can no longer be linked back to you.

Retention at a glance

Enquiry records Held long enough to follow up and keep the thread of the conversation.
Customer account data Kept while the account is active and for the period required for accounting and reporting.
Site usage data Held only as long as it stays useful for running and improving the website.

Your choices

Your rights and how to exercise them

To make a request, contact us using the details on our Contact page. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request, so that we do not release records to the wrong person.

You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where there is no continuing legal or contractual reason to keep it. You may also object to certain processing or ask us to restrict it.

How do I ask for a copy of my data?

Send a request to our team by phone or email and say which records you want to see. We will confirm what we hold, explain where it came from, and provide a copy once we are satisfied about who is asking.

Can I have inaccurate details corrected?

Yes. Tell us which field is wrong and what it should say. We update the record and, where the details were passed to a service provider for the same purpose, we ask them to update it too.

When can a deletion request be refused?

If the record still has to be kept for accounting, tax or reporting reasons, or because a contract is running, we cannot delete it yet. We will tell you which reason applies and for how long the record must stay.

Protecting your data

Security

We apply administrative and technical measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. Access to customer data within the platform is controlled by user permissions set by the account holder, so a bookkeeper, an owner and an external accountant can each see only what their role allows.

No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure. If you have concerns about how your data is handled, contact us and we will explain our practices.

What this means for you

  • Set user roles carefully when you add colleagues or an external accountant to your account.
  • Remove access for staff who leave, and review who can see financial data each quarter.
  • Contact us straight away if you notice account activity you cannot explain.

Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention, such as a notice on the website or a message to account holders.

If you keep using the website after an update takes effect, the published version applies. Older versions are replaced rather than archived on this page, so always read the copy currently shown here.
